About the role The Power Platform Consultant is a client-facing delivery role for someone equally strong on the functional and technical sides of the Microsoft Power Platform. Working within DataIQ's Business Applications practice, this person owns solutions end to end — shaping requirements with clients, designing the solution, building it across canvas and model-driven apps, Power Automate and Dataverse, and extending it with pro-code where the low-code ceiling is reached. This is a hands-on role that blends consulting and engineering.
The consultant integrates what they build with the wider Microsoft stack — Dynamics 365, Microsoft Fabric and Azure — and takes it through proper application lifecycle management to production.
Key responsibilities
- Run discovery and requirements workshops, and translate business needs into explicit solution designs
- Build and configure building it across Power Apps (canvas and model-driven), Power Automate and Dataverse
- Automate business processes with Power Automate (cloud flows, approvals and integrations)
- Design Dataverse data models and configure security roles
- Build pro-code extensions — PCF controls, plugins and custom workflow activities (C#/.NET), custom connectors, and JavaScript/TypeScript customisations
- Integrate solutions with external systems and data sources via the Dataverse Web API and Azure services
- Own application lifecycle management: solution management, environment strategy,
source control and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps / GitHub, Power Platform CLI)
- Integrate Power Platform solutions with Dynamics 365, Azure and Microsoft Fabric
- Run demos and user acceptance testing, manage client stakeholders, and produce clear solution and handover documentation
- Contribute to scoping and effort estimates alongside pre-sales and delivery leads
About you
- 4+ years hands-on delivering Power Platform solutions end to end, ideally in a consulting or client-facing environment
- Functional strength: requirements gathering and workshop facilitation, canvas and model-driven app development, Dataverse data modelling and security configuration, and Power Automate across common patterns
- Technical strength: pro-code extension of the platform — PCF controls, plugins and custom workflow activities in C#/.NET, custom connectors, JavaScript/TypeScript, the Dataverse Web API, and the Power Platform CLI
- Application lifecycle management discipline — solution management, source control and deployment pipelines
- Working knowledge of the wider Microsoft ecosystem (Dynamics 365, Azure, Microsoft 365) and common integration patterns
- PL-200 (Functional Consultant) and PL-400 (Developer) certification, or equivalent demonstrable experience
- A strong communicator who can move between technical detail and business conversation
