About the role

Kwik Kopy Darling Harbour is seeking a Junior Prepress & Print Production Operator to join our growing production team.

This is a full-time position based in Pyrmont, NSW 2009 and is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in the print and signage industry.

We are looking for someone with some exposure to print, signage, prepress, artwork or production , however we are also open to candidates with limited industry experience who have the right attitude, attention to detail and willingness to learn.

Previous experience working within a print shop, signage business or similar production workplace would be highly regarded , as you will already understand the fast-paced, hands-on and deadline-driven nature of the industry.

The primary focus of the role will be prepress, imposition and preparing customer artwork for production , while also assisting across digital printing, finishing, large format and general production.

Technical skills can be developed through training. What is particularly important to us is finding someone who is reliable, takes pride in their work, communicates well and understands the importance of quality, teamwork and meeting our customers' deadlines.

Full training will be provided across our equipment, systems and production processes.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and impose artwork for digital print production.
- Check customer-supplied artwork and prepare files for printing.
- Learn to identify and resolve common artwork and print production issues.
- Check bleed, sizing, resolution, colour and other basic print requirements.
- Prepare proofs and ensure job specifications are correct before production.
- Assist with operating digital printing equipment.
- Assist with print finishing including trimming, laminating, binding, mounting and packing.
- Assist with large format and signage production.
- Read and follow job tickets and production instructions accurately.
- Carry out quality checks throughout production.
- Take ownership of assigned work and help ensure jobs are completed accurately and within customer deadlines.
- Communicate any issues or potential delays early so they can be resolved.
- Maintain a clean, organised and efficient production environment.
- Work closely and collaboratively with our production and customer service teams.
- Learn and cross-train across our production equipment and processes.




- Assist across production when required to help the team meet customer commitments.

What We're Looking For

• An interest in building a career in print, prepress and production .

• Some experience within a print shop, signage business, copy centre or production environment is highly regarded, but not essential .

- Basic Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator or InDesign knowledge would be beneficial, but training can be provided.
- Basic understanding of print-ready artwork would be beneficial, but is not essential.

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work .

• A positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn .

- Reliable, punctual and committed to being part of a team.
- Takes ownership and responsibility for assigned work and follows jobs through to completion.

• Understands the importance of meeting deadlines and delivering on commitments to our customers .

- Good communication skills and willingness to ask questions or raise issues early.
- Comfortable using computers and learning new software.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Able to follow instructions and production processes accurately.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment where priorities can change.

- Proactive, flexible and willing to assist the wider team when required.

Desirable, But Not Essential
- Previous experience working in a commercial print or signage business.
- Exposure to prepress or artwork preparation.
- Experience imposing artwork for digital printing.
- Basic Adobe Creative Suite skills.
- Experience operating digital printers or finishing equipment.
- Large format or signage experience.
- Print finishing experience.
