About TechClick

TechClick is a leading channel-only Microsoft delivery partner, helping resellers, managed service providers, and technology partners accelerate customer outcomes across Modern Work, AI, Data, Security, Compliance, and Azure.

We work exclusively through our partner ecosystem, providing specialist expertise, advisory services, and end-to-end solution delivery that complements and strengthens our partners’ capabilities. From Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Copilot, and Purview to Azure and data-driven transformation initiatives, we help partners confidently deliver complex projects without the need to build and maintain every capability in-house.

Our success is built on technical excellence, innovation, and collaboration. We stay at the forefront of emerging technologies and best practices, enabling our partners to access the latest expertise, reduce delivery risk, and create greater value for their customers.

At TechClick, you'll join a highly skilled and passionate team that thrives on solving complex challenges, sharing knowledge, and delivering meaningful outcomes. We offer the opportunity to work on diverse projects, collaborate with leading Microsoft partners across Australia and New Zealand, and play a key role in shaping the future of cloud, AI, and digital workplace technologies.

Purpose of the Role The Principal Consultant is Techclick's most senior client-facing technical role in the Modern Work and Data Governance practice. The position exists to translate complex client problems into practical Microsoft 365 solutions, with deep specialisation in SharePoint and Microsoft Purview. You will own the technical integrity of engagements from discovery through to adoption, and you will be the person clients ask for by name when the stakes are high.

Beyond delivery, the role carries genuine practice leadership. You will help shape our service offerings, raise the technical standard of the consulting team, and support pre-sales conversations where credibility in the room is critical. Roughly seventy per cent of your time is expected to be billable, with the balance invested in pre-sales, capability building and mentoring.

Key Responsibilities

Client Delivery and Solution Leadership

- Lead discovery workshops and design authority sessions with business and IT stakeholders, converting ambiguous requirements into defensible solution architectures.
- Own the end-to-end technical design, delivery quality and risk position of assigned engagements, including estimation, sequencing and dependency management.
- Act as escalation point for complex technical issues, making decisions clients can trace back to a documented rationale.
- Produce clear, client-ready artefacts: solution designs, migration plans, governance frameworks, operating models and handover documentation.

SharePoint and Content Services

- Design and deliver SharePoint Online information architectures covering site structure, metadata, content types, search and permissions models at enterprise scale.
- Plan and execute content migrations from file shares, SharePoint Server and third-party platforms, including remediation, cutover planning and post-migration validation.
- Build intranet,

document management and collaboration solutions using SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive and Power Platform.
- Establish governance and lifecycle controls: provisioning, external sharing, site lifecycle, sprawl management and tenant configuration standards.

Microsoft Purview, Compliance and Information Governance

- Design and implement Microsoft Purview capabilities including sensitivity labels, data loss prevention, retention and records management, and insider risk management.
- Lead data classification and discovery programs, working with legal, privacy and risk teams to align technical controls with regulatory obligations.
- Advise clients on Australian regulatory context, including the Privacy Act and Australian Privacy Principles, the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, and public-sector recordkeeping requirements where relevant.
- Prepare clients for eDiscovery, audit and compliance reporting, and support remediation following assessments or incidents.

Practice Growth and Technical Development

- Support pre-sales as the senior technical voice: solution shaping, effort estimation, proposal content and client presentations.
- Mentor consultants and senior consultants, run internal capability sessions, and lead technical quality reviews across the practice.
- Contribute reusable assets — accelerators, reference architectures, delivery playbooks — that shorten future engagements.

Essential Skills and Experience

- Eight or more years in IT consulting or enterprise IT, with at least five years focused on Microsoft 365, and a track record of leading engagements rather than contributing to them.
- Deep, demonstrable SharePoint Online expertise across information architecture, migration, search, permissions and governance.
- Hands-on Microsoft Purview experience covering at least sensitivity labels, data loss prevention and retention or records management in a production environment.
- Strong working knowledge of the wider Microsoft 365 platform: Entra ID, Teams, OneDrive, Exchange Online and the security and compliance admin surfaces.
- Practical automation skills using PowerShell and Microsoft Graph, with the judgement to know when scripting is the right answer and when it is not.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the confidence to hold a room of executives and the patience to explain the same idea to an end-user community.
- Eligibility to work in Australia, and willingness to undergo police or security clearance where a client engagement requires it.

Desirable — Artificial Intelligence Capability (Bonus)

AI skills are not a barrier to applying, but they are a strong differentiator. Clients increasingly ask us to connect information governance work directly to their AI readiness, and this role sits at exactly that intersection:

Purview and SharePoint are the controls that make Microsoft 365 Copilot safe to switch on. Candidates with any of the following will be viewed favourably.

- Experience preparing tenants for Microsoft 365 Copilot, including oversharing assessments, permission remediation and Copilot readiness reviews.
- Familiarity with Copilot Studio, declarative agents or custom agent development against organisational content.
- Understanding of AI governance and responsible AI practice, including how Purview data security and compliance controls extend to AI interactions.
- Exposure to Azure AI services, Azure OpenAI or retrieval-augmented generation patterns built over enterprise content.
- Ability to run client education sessions that separate genuine AI value from vendor noise.

Qualifications and Certifications
- Tertiary qualification in information technology, information management or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Microsoft certifications relevant to the role are expected, particularly around Microsoft 365 administration, information protection and compliance, or identity and access administration.
- Project or delivery methodology credentials such as Agile, PRINCE2 or PMP are welcome but not required.

Personal Attributes

We are looking for someone who is comfortable being accountable. That means owning a recommendation once it is made, saying so early when an engagement is drifting, and treating a client's constraints as design inputs rather than obstacles. Curiosity matters as much as knowledge — the platform changes every quarter, and the consultants who thrive at TechClick are the ones who stay ahead of it without needing to be told.

Working at TechClick

TechClick has an AI enabled, results-based culture where people are trusted to decide how best to achieve transparent client, delivery and business outcomes. We focus on the quality, timeliness and impact of the work produced rather than activity for its own sake. Consultants are expected to take ownership of commitments, communicate risks early, collaborate across the team and use sound judgement to deliver measurable value for clients.

Team members receive broad access to approved AI tooling, including Microsoft 365 Copilot, Cowork, Copilot Studio, Scout, GitHub Copilot and Microsoft Foundry, enabling them to research, automate, prototype and build practical solutions more effectively. We encourage responsible experimentation, shared learning and hands-on use of these platforms, supported by clear governance and a strong focus on security, privacy and measurable outcomes.

Our delivery bonus scheme recognises team members who contribute to successful project outcomes and consistently demonstrate strong delivery performance. Eligibility and payments are governed by the applicable scheme terms and may consider factors such as delivery quality, client satisfaction, commercial performance, collaboration and achievement of agreed objectives. The scheme reinforces our belief that exceptional results should be recognised while maintaining the standards, teamwork and responsible practices expected across TechClick.
