About the Role The Processing Supervisor - Abalone role is based at Yumbah’s Processing Facility at Royal Park, Adelaide and reports to the Production Manager.
The Processing Supervisor - Abalone leads the daily Abalone processing operations to ensure production targets for quality, safety, customer service, and productivity are achieved. The role supports the development and execution of daily processing plans to meet customer requirements while ensuring goods are produced efficiently, on time, within budget, and to standard.
The position maintains high WHS and Food Safety standards, works closely with QA to support audits and corrective actions, and promotes collaboration across procurement, sales, logistics, and management. The Processing Supervisor also guides the team priorities, compliance, and continuous improvement to drive operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day Abalone processing activities at Royal Park.
- Ensure production lines are correctly set up at the start of each day.
- Achieve Productivity Targets set for the processing team across various pack-types.
- Manage production costs effectively within assigned area of responsibility.
- Motivate, guide and train an effective and skilled processing team.
- Roster shifts and approve timesheets.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance officer to maintain high product standards and ensure compliance to product specification.
- Ensure compliance with all Work Instructions (WIs), Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Maintain a safe working environment and promote a strong safety culture.
Qualifications/Experience
- Proven success in food processing environment.
- Robust people leading skills and experience.
- Solid communication skills – written & verbal.
- Effective time management skills.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs.
- Strong knowledge of Processing Work Instructions, with confidence to train and sign off team members' learning.
- Ability to positively influence organisational culture.
- Knowledge of process improvement techniques, and WHS standards & compliance.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
