PRODUCTION TEAM LEAD (PICK & DISPATCH)

Full Time, Permanent — Forrestdale WA

Day shift, Monday–Friday (6:00am start)

THE OPPORTUNITY

Daily Chef is a high-growth food manufacturing business producing premium chilled meals for major Australian retailers. Based at our Forrestdale facility, we're looking for a hands-on, driven Production Team Lead to own our order picking and outbound dispatch operation.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

You'll lead a team of up to 10 on our pick and pack floor day-to-day, taking direct ownership of order accuracy, outbound dispatch, and packaging equipment readiness. Your key responsibilities will include:

- Supervising daily pick, pack, and dispatch operations to meet order accuracy and on-time delivery targets.
- Operating and maintaining packaging machinery — conducting daily pre-op checks, performing routine maintenance, and logging and escalating faults.
- Leading, coaching, and developing your team to consistently hit productivity and quality targets.
- Maintaining stock accuracy through real-time WMS transactions, FIFO discipline, and regular cycle counts.




- Ensuring full compliance with WHS requirements — safety on the pick floor is non-negotiable.
- Liaising with Production, Planning, and Transport providers to keep outbound operations running smoothly.
- Identifying and driving continuous improvement initiatives to improve pick efficiency and reduce errors.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR You're a proven warehouse leader who leads from the front. You know your way around a pick floor, you're comfortable with packaging machinery, and you understand that accuracy and timeliness aren't optional.

You'll bring

- Demonstrated experience as a production team leader, supervisor, or leading hand, with a focus on order picking and dispatch.
- Hands-on experience operating and performing basic maintenance on packaging machinery (sealers, labelers, strapping machines, or similar).
- Experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) — you use it accurately and in real time, every time.
- A robust understanding of FIFO, cycle counting, and inventory accuracy principles.
- A commitment to WHS compliance — you don't cut corners on safety.
- Clear, direct communication and the ability to get the best out of a team.

HIGHLY REGARDED

- Experience in food manufacturing or a chilled/cold-chain environment.
- Forklift licence (LF).
