Project Manager - Melbourne | 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract | Immediate Start

Advance Thinking is looking for an experienced mid-to-senior Project Manager to lead two important initiatives within a major Australian insurance environment.

This is a highly visible role that brings together regulatory delivery, commercial outcomes, customer impacts, technology and broader insurance transformation.

You’ll work across multiple business and technology teams, with GM-level sponsorship and exposure to senior executives, making this a great opportunity for either an established Senior Project Manager or a high-performing mid-level PM ready to step into a broader leadership role.

The Opportunity:

You’ll take ownership of two key initiatives:

1. FY27 Rate Review

Lead the coordination and delivery of the annual Rate Review program responsible for implementing premium changes across Private Health Insurance (PHI) and Overseas Visitors Cover (OVC).

This is a significant regulatory, commercial and customer-focused program with a critical implementation date of 1 April.

The program includes

- Rate strategy, pricing and commercial assessment
- Regulatory premium submissions and approvals
- Responding to regulatory clarification requests
- Customer and product impact assessments
- Technology and systems delivery
- Product and billing updates
- Customer communications and engagement
- Operational readiness
- Implementation and go-live coordination

Established technology teams will deliver many of the underlying system changes, but the Project Manager will be the linchpin across the different teams and workstreams , ensuring dependencies are understood, activities remain coordinated and the overall program stays on track. 2. Insurance Transformation Strategy

You’ll also support the development of the business case for a broader Insurance Transformation Strategy.

This will involve working with senior leaders and stakeholders to help define the opportunity, understand business requirements and priorities,



shape the case for change and establish a clear pathway forward.

What You’ll Be Doing:

- Establish and maintain clear project scope, plans, milestones and governance
- Lead delivery across multiple business and technology workstreams
- Coordinate regulatory, commercial, product, technology, operational and customer activities
- Identify and actively manage risks, issues, dependencies and critical-path activities
- Drive accountability and maintain momentum across delivery teams
- Facilitate effective decision-making and escalate issues where required
- Work closely with senior business sponsors, General Managers and executives
- Provide clear, concise and meaningful project reporting
- Coordinate operational readiness and implementation activities
- Ensure technology delivery remains aligned with broader business outcomes
- Contribute to the development of the Insurance Transformation Strategy business case
- Bring structure and clarity to a complex, deadline-driven environment

What We’re Looking For: We’re looking for a mid-to-senior level Project Manager with solid delivery capability and the confidence to operate across complex stakeholder environments.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

- Strong end-to-end Project Management experience
- Experience delivering complex business, transformation or regulatory initiatives
- Previous insurance industry experience is highly regarded
- Private Health Insurance experience would be advantageous
- Experience delivering regulatory, compliance or commercially driven programs
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing capability
- Confidence engaging with General Managers, Executives and senior sponsors
- Experience coordinating multiple teams,



workstreams and dependencies
- Strong governance, planning, risk and issue management skills
- Exposure to technology-enabled transformation or technology delivery
- Experience working within complex, matrixed organisations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

A deep technical background isn't required. However, you should be comfortable working with technology teams and understanding how technology delivery connects to broader business and customer outcomes. More Than a Job Title

You may already be an established Senior Project Manager, or you may be a strong mid-level Project Manager ready to step into a larger and more visible role.
