About Norton's Norton Gold Fields is one of Australia’s largest domestic gold producers, with recent annual production of up to 200,000 ounces. The Company has a mining and processing complex in Western Australia’s world-class Kalgoorlie goldfield region, including a highly prospective tenement package of more than 1,000km² surrounding the 3.8Mtpa Paddington Mill.

Currently Norton Gold Fields is progressing its expansion of two underground mine sites namely Tuart and Enterprise and various open pit projects such as Federal, Jakarta, Golden Funnel, Rose Dam South and Rose Dam North this year.

Duties:

- Undertake Project Work as defined by the Senior Underground Geologist, to enable the geology and underground team to meet its Underground and Resource Definition Department KPI's.
- Provide supervision, coaching and mentoring to support staff to ensure team effectiveness and achieve best practices.
- Manage the timely and accurate collection of geological information to optimise metal extraction and mining dilution.
- Undertake Grade control sampling and resource definition sampling to extend the life of the mine.
- Ensure that daily ore production data is accurately reported.
- Assist in the compilation of weekly development and production forecast ?
- Ensure that end of month factorisation is completed with identified timeframes




- Ensure that EOM reporting and reconciliation is completed within identified timeframes and is distributed to nominated key stakeholders.
- Assist in compilation of monthly development and production forecast.
- Ensure that wall and backs mapping is accurate and reviewed.
- Other relevant duties as directed by Supervisor.

Skills and Experience:

- Relevant degree from a recognised tertiary institution
- Current unrestricted “C” Class WA Manual Drivers Licence.
- Satisfactory GSDU / NPC clearance.
- Senior First Aid Certificate (desirable)
- Minimum 3 years Underground mining experience
- Ability to mentor junior mine geologist and managing a small team of professionals
- Ability to work unsupervised and use own initiative.
- Advanced computer skills in particular Microsoft Office Suite, Datashed, MPX, Logcheif and Surpac
- Ability to engage team and others to solve problems, develop solutions and get things done.
- Ability to earn respect through fair treatment of people, clear task assignment, coaching, feedback and performance management
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships required to achieve role purpose
- Able to read and write English at Australian Upper Secondary School standard.
