We are seeking a hands-on Laboratory Technician to support our research and development activities. This role is ideal for a recent graduate and technically minded individual with an interest in materials science, chemical engineering, electrochemistry, or renewable energy.

The Role

This role offers the opportunity to work alongside researchers and engineers on projects contributing directly to the advancement of technologies from early-stage research through to commercial deployment.

Key responsibilities include

- Assisting with the preparation and fabrication of research samples and experimental components.
- Following standard operating procedures (SOPs) to safely operate and maintain advanced laboratory equipment.
- Following SOPs to assemble, operate and troubleshoot laboratory-scale electrochemical systems.
- Collecting and recording experimental data as well as interpreting characterization data.
- Assisting researchers and engineers with a variety of technical tasks and development projects as required.
- Helping to identify opportunities to improve laboratory processes and workflows.

About You

Essential

- Recently completed a degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Physics,



or a related discipline.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow experimental procedures.
- Good organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Comfortable working in a laboratory environment. Experience following SOPs and handling laboratory instruments.

Desirable
- Experience working in research laboratories, handling chemicals and preparing solutions.
- Experience with ceramic processing or ceramic manufacturing techniques. Experience in preparing ceramic slurries, coating and tape casting. Familiarity with using laboratory furnaces and sintering.
- Experience working with characterisation techniques such as XRD and SEM.
- Familiarity with electrochemistry or hydrogen technologies.

- Able to respond quickly to changing priorities, experimental outcomes and project requirements.
- Proactive in learning new techniques, solving practical challenges and contributing across technical, operational and commercial activities.

- Be available to work full-time at our laboratory on an ongoing basis.
- Be able to provide evidence of their work rights if requested.
