Based in the Gold Coast, you’ll provide outreach crisis support to women and children experiencing Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) and/or homelessness because of DFV .

In this part-time, maximum-term role until 30 June 2027, you will work 68.4 hours per fortnight across 9 rostered days. Working daysmay be scheduled on Monday to Sunday and may be subject to change in consultation with you and program leadership. Operating hours are 2:00pm to 10:00pm Monday to Friday and 11:00am to 7:00pm on weekends. You’ll work as part of our ReachOut team in the Gold Coast, to help us create lasting change for children everywhere.

You will make a difference by:

- Providing immediate support to women and children impacted by DFV, through outcomes based, strengths’ perspective andclient-centred approaches
- Conducting risk assessments and safety planning
- Developing strong partnerships and referral pathways to connect women and families with appropriate information, support and services, to achieve desired outcomes
- Collecting and recording information for the purpose of accountability, evaluation, and reporting

Your deep expertise in domestic and family violence will be invaluable. You’re a passionate and confident DFV specialist, with robust knowledge of domestic and family violence and how it impacts women, children and communities. Importantly, you’re committed to making a positive change in the community.

This role requires:

- Experience working with women, children and young people who have experienced domestic and family violence
- Knowledge of best practice, professional standards, and relevant research in the field of domestic and family violence
- Demonstrated experience working with, and understanding of, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and families, including the ability to identify the ways in which cultural contexts influence practice approaches
- A Bachelor of Social Work, Psychology or relevant Human Services Qualification and/or significant experience working in the domestic and family violence sector

It is a genuine requirement of this position that it be filled by a woman as permitted in sections 25, 104 and 105 of the Anti-Discrimination Act, 1991.
