About Your Role

We're looking for enthusiastic, reliable and proactive Recreation and Lifestyle Officers to join our Social & Recreation Programs in Campbelltown. You'll support children, young people and adults with disability to engage in social, recreational and community-based activities that promote independence, skill development and meaningful participation. Programs are tailored to each person's goals, interests and aspirations and may be delivered through individual supports or small group activities.
This role offers a variety of shifts, from shorter supports of a few hours to full-day outings and recreational programs. No two days are the same, with opportunities to support participants through individual supports, group activities, community events, skill-building programs and recreational experiences across weekdays and weekends.
What You'll Do
- Support participants to engage safely and confidently in social, recreational and community-based activities
- Facilitate enjoyable and meaningful experiences aligned with participants' interests, goals and NDIS plans
- Encourage independence, life skill development and social connection
- Assist participants with personal care and daily living needs where required
- Support participants to attend community events, recreational outings and group programs
- Foster positive relationships and encourage active participation in activities
- Promote inclusion, confidence and community engagement
- Complete documentation, progress notes and incident reporting as required
- Work a variety of shifts, including short supports, extended community outings, weekdays, evenings and weekends
- Work independently and collaboratively to deliver high-quality, person-centred supports
What We're Looking For
- Passionate about helping people with disability achieve their goals and live meaningful lives
- Energetic, positive and comfortable participating in social, recreational and community activities
- Experience supporting people with disability in community, recreation, lifestyle or support work settings
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build rapport and meaningful connections with participants
- Confidence supporting participants with varying support needs
- Reliable, flexible and able to adapt to different activities, participants and shift lengths
- Commitment to person-centred practice, dignity, choice and inclusion
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
Essential Qualifications
- Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, Community Services or equivalent
- Experience supporting people with disability in community participation, recreation or lifestyle programs
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Current Driver's Licence
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children Check
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module (or willingness to obtain)
