Position Title: Registered Nurse (Year 2-8) / Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS2), Point of Care and DBS Testing

This position is funded as a CNS2 level. If you have a post graduate qualification and at least 3 years’ experience working in the sector, you are eligible to apply for the CNS2 grading. If you do not meet the CNS2 criteria, you are still eligible to apply for this position as a Registered Nurse, but with a commitment to undertake the required post graduate qualifications within the next 3 years of being appointed to the position.

The Role

- This position provides advanced clinical support in the delivery and coordination of PoCT and DBS services across adult correctional centres in NSW.

- The position functions as a mobile clinical resource, working across multiple sites to support the implementation and delivery of established PoCT and DBS programs at a local level. The role provides advanced clinical expertise, supports consistent clinical practice, and facilitates access to testing and follow-up care.





- The RN/CNS2 works with nursing and multidisciplinary teams to support safe, effective, and evidence-based care, and contributes to maintaining clinical standards within an established program framework.

- The position contributes to quality improvement activities, data collection, and reporting requirements, and supports education and capability development of staff involved in testing.

- This role supports improved patient access to screening, diagnosis and care, and contributes to broader population health outcomes including hepatitis C elimination priorities.
