This is a hands-on field role, with the majority of your time spent across residential construction sites, working directly with supervisors, subcontractors and operational teams to provide practical WHS advice and support.
Working closely with the Group WHS Manager, you will have the autonomy to manage multiple sites and priorities while maintaining a strong, visible safety presence across our construction operations.
What you'll be doing
- Conduct regular site inspections, safety walks, audits and compliance checks across residential construction sites.
- Provide practical WHS advice to supervisors, subcontractors and site teams.
- Identify hazards, assess risks and work with teams to implement practical controls.
- Review SWMS and subcontractor WHS documentation for compliance.
- Build strong relationships with supervisors and subcontractors through a visible, on-site presence.
- Participate in pre-starts, toolbox talks and safety meetings.
- Assist with incident and near-miss investigations and follow corrective actions through to completion.
- Support rehabilitation and return-to-work activities.
- Maintain WHS documentation, reporting and records.
What you'll bring
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a WHS Officer, Safety Advisor or similar role.
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or higher.
- WHS experience within residential construction, construction or a similar site-based environment.
- Practical experience conducting WHS audits, site inspections and compliance reviews.
- Practical knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management and construction safety requirements.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- Confidence working directly with supervisors, subcontractors and site teams.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple sites and priorities.
- Current Australian Driver Licence and willingness to travel between sites.
Highly regarded
- Previous WHS experience within residential construction.
- WHS auditing experience or relevant auditing qualifications.
- Current First Aid qualification.
About you
You'll be someone who enjoys being out on site rather than behind a desk. You're approachable, confident having safety conversations and able to work with supervisors and subcontractors to find practical solutions while maintaining WHS standards.
What’s in it for you
At Stoddart Group, we invest in our people and provide opportunities to grow your career in a supportive, down-to-earth environment. You’ll enjoy:
- Ongoing mentoring and coaching from our experienced Group WHS Manager.

- Paid parental leave, including up to 12 weeks’ top-up for primary carers and 2 weeks for secondary carers.
- Access to confidential wellbeing support through our Employee Assistance Program.
- Recognition through our “Living Our Values” program, where outstanding work doesn’t go unnoticed.
- Free on-site parking.
- A supportive team environment where people genuinely help each other out.
If you’re ready for a hands-on safety role where you can be out in the field, support frontline teams and make a genuine impact across construction and manufacturing operations, we’d love to hear from you.
