Our client is seeking an experienced Safety, Operations & Technical Officer to play a key role in delivering an important ISO safety improvement project within Water Services.
This position will focus on enhancing safety systems, reviewing operational processes, and ensuring documentation aligns with ISO standards and business objectives.
Working closely with operational teams and stakeholders, you'll translate safety and compliance requirements into practical procedures, training materials and business documentation that drives continuous improvement across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct operational and safety impact assessments
- Develop and implement safety improvement initiatives
- Review, update and maintain procedures, work instructions, and operational documentation
- Maintain operational risk registers and support risk management activities
- Develop training materials aligned with ISO and business requirements
- Support the implementation of safety management systems
- Assist with continuous improvement and compliance initiatives
- Engage with stakeholders to embed operational changes effectively
- Provide technical and administrative support across safety and business improvement projects
What You Need to Succeed To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Experience working with safety management systems and workplace safety practices
- Robust knowledge of operational risk management principles
- Experience creating and maintaining policies, procedures and technical documentation
- The ability to interpret standards,
legislation and compliance requirements and translate them into practical business processes
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Strong written communication and document control experience
- Highly developed organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Desirable Experience
- ISO management systems or compliance projects
- Development or delivery of training materials
- Safety and quality administration
- Business improvement initiatives
- Compliance and governance environments
Highly Desirable
- Technical writing and document management
- Experience within water, utilities, infrastructure, local government, or other operational environments
