A highly regarded insurance organisation is expanding its team and is seeking an experienced Safety Specialist to join them in Sydney.

About the role
As a Safety Specialist, you will work collaboratively with a diverse range of organisations to identify and address workplace safety challenges, strengthen safety systems and continuously improve safety performance and culture.
This is a varied, relationship-focused role that will see you working both independently and alongside members to provide practical advice, education and support.
Key responsibilities
- Provide specialist WHS advice and practical guidance to members.
- Identify safety risks and opportunities for improvement and support the implementation of effective solutions.
- Develop and deliver engaging safety training and education programs.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Prepare high-quality reports, resources and safety materials.
- Support organisations on their journey to improve safety performance and drive positive cultural change.
- Apply injury management practices to support worker recovery and positive return-to-work outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver practical safety solutions.
About you You will be an experienced safety qualified who is passionate about making a genuine difference in workplace safety and enjoys building relationships and working directly with people.
You will bring
- Extensive experience in a safety operations role, with demonstrated evidence of delivering positive safety outcomes.
- Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation and its practical application within workplace safety management systems.
- Proven experience developing and delivering safety training and education.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage people at all levels.
- A genuine passion for people, safety and continuous improvement.
- A willingness to travel and get out into the field to meet and support members.
- A current and valid driver's licence.
