Help drive the sales pipeline for Sydney’s newest large-scale event destination
This is an opportunity to play a key role in the pre-opening sales journey for Harbourside, one of Sydney’s most significant new event destinations, offering the scale, flexibility and location to attract conferences, corporate events, gala dinners, incentive programs and major business events from national and international markets.
We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager –
- MICE to join our newly developed Harbourside sales team and play an key role in building, managing and converting the sales pipeline for this significant new Sydney event destination.
This is a hands-on sales role for someone with experience across corporate and MICE markets who enjoys creating new business, developing client relationships and actively progressing inbound and qualified MICE opportunities through to conversion.
The role will combine inbound pipeline management, proactive new business development and sales execution of opportunities generated through the broader MICE team, helping build a strong forward book of business for Harbourside.
About The Role
Reporting to the Group Head of Sales, you will play an active role in driving revenue across corporate, PCO, conference and broader MICE markets.
You will manage and convert inbound opportunities while proactively identifying and developing new business, building robust relationships with corporate clients, PCOs, event agencies and key event decision-makers.
Importantly, you will also work closely with the Senior Manager –
- MICE Markets &
- Strategic Relationships, taking qualified opportunities developed through strategic MICE relationships and market activity and progressing them through the active sales process to conversion.
This will include managing client engagement, preparing quotes and proposals, coordinating site inspections and presentations, maintaining consistent follow-up and ensuring opportunities continue to move through the sales pipeline towards confirmation.
You will take clear ownership of the sales execution of allocated opportunities while working collaboratively with the broader MICE and Harbourside sales team to maximise conversion and commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and convert inbound corporate, conference and MICE enquiries, ensuring strong response times, follow-up and sales momentum.
- Proactively identify and pursue new clients and business opportunities across corporate, PCO, conference and MICE markets.
- Generate new opportunities through targeted outbound prospecting and proactive business development.
- Work closely with the Senior Manager –
- MICE Markets &
- Strategic Relationships to progress qualified MICE opportunities through the active sales process to conversion.
- Take ownership of the sales execution of allocated MICE opportunities, including quoting, proposals, client follow-up, site inspections, presentations and ongoing sales management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, PCOs, event agencies and event decision-makers.
- Manage opportunities through the sales cycle from initial enquiry or allocation through to confirmation.
- Maintain consistent follow-up, clear next steps and momentum across both individually generated and allocated opportunities.
- Develop existing client relationships and identify opportunities for repeat and incremental business.
- Identify new accounts with the potential for future growth across Harbourside and the broader Doltone House portfolio.
- Work collaboratively with senior sales managers on significant or complex opportunities where additional support is required.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and clear visibility over pipeline status, activity, follow-up and conversion.
- Contribute relevant client and market intelligence to support broader sales and business-development activity.
About You You are an experienced and commercially driven sales professional who enjoys winning new business, building client relationships and actively progressing opportunities through to conversion. You are equally comfortable responding to an inbound opportunity, proactively opening a new client relationship or taking a qualified chance and managing the detailed sales process required to convert it into confirmed business.
You Will Ideally Bring
- Experience within MICE, business events, venues, hotels, hospitality or a related sales setting.
- Experience working with corporate clients, PCOs, event agencies and/or business-event decision-makers.
- A demonstrated ability to proactively generate new business as well as manage and convert inbound opportunities.
- The ability to take a qualified opportunity and confidently manage the sales process through to conversion.
- Experience preparing quotes and proposals and managing client follow-up throughout the sales cycle.
- Strong sales, negotiation and commercial skills with a focus on converting opportunities into revenue.
- Strong relationship-management and client-engagement skills.
- Confidence conducting site inspections, client presentations and sales meetings.
- The ability to develop existing accounts and identify repeat and incremental business opportunities.
- Strong organisational, follow-up and CRM discipline.
- A proactive and accountable approach with strong commercial follow-through.
- The ability to manage your own pipeline while also taking ownership of opportunities generated through the broader MICE team and progressing them through to conversion.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively within a broader sales team.
