Senior Electrical Engineer – Water Treatment (3-Month Contract)

Role Description

RSGx is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for a 3-month contract based in Sydney, NSW.

The primary focus of this role is to review subcontractor electrical and control system designs, drawings, calculations, and equipment purchase specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements, client standards, and Australian Standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Review and approve subcontractor electrical and control system designs.
- Review electrical, instrumentation, and control equipment purchase specifications.
- Ensure compliance with water industry standards, client requirements, and Australian Standards.




- Provide technical support during procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover activities.
- Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and client representatives.
- Identify design risks, resolve technical issues, and support project delivery.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years electrical engineering experience, including 2-3 years at Senior Electrical Engineer level.
- Mandatory experience in water treatment, wastewater treatment, desalination, or related water infrastructure projects.
- Solid knowledge of water industry electrical standards, specifications, and design requirements, with proven experience reviewing and verifying subcontractor electrical and control system designs and equipment specifications.
- Experience with power distribution systems, switchboards, transformers, MCCs, PLCs, SCADA, instrumentation, and control systems.

- Applicants must be currently based in Sydney, NSW.
- Only Sydney-based candidates will be considered.
- Full Australian working rights are required.
- Available to commence at short notice.
