Dale Christian College is seeking a dynamic and innovative Secondary School Science Teacher (Preference Chemistry) to join our K-12 College in a full-time, permanent position commencing Term 1, 2027. The successful applicant will collaborate with the Dean of Curriculum & Students (Secondary) and the Deputy Principal (Secondary) and the Learning Area Coordinator (Science / Maths) to deliver high-quality education that provides and promotes excellence in teaching, learning, and student outcomes in the Science department whilst ensuring adherence to the school’s mission, vision, and code of conduct.

About This Role:

Science Teacher | Full Time | Permanent Position | Commencing Term 1, 2027

The successful applicant will teach Science across the Secondary School with teaching allocations determined according to experience, qualifications and the needs of the College. The capacity to teach Science across Years 7–10 is essential, with experience or capability in WACE and ATAR Science courses (preference Chemistry) highly regarded.

This role is open to experienced teachers and graduates alike. Applicants must hold current teacher registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA) or be eligible to obtain appropriate registration prior to commencement. Limited Registration may be considered where appropriate and in accordance with TRBWA requirements.

The successful applicant will be relational, organised and purposeful, with strong scientific and sound pedagogical knowledge, the ability to create a positive, well-managed and inclusive learning environment, and a willingness to contribute positively to the life and culture of the College.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality, engaging Science programs and lessons aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum and, where applicable, School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) WACE course requirements.
- Assess, record and report on student achievement in Science,



providing timely and constructive feedback to support the development of scientific knowledge, inquiry skills, scientific literacy, critical thinking, and evidence-based problem-solving. Use assessment data and evidence of student progress to identify learning needs, inform differentiated instruction, and improve student achievement in Science.
- Use a range of evidence-informed teaching strategies, differentiation and appropriate digital technologies to meet diverse learning needs and build student confidence and engagement across the various fields of Science. Contribute to documented learning plans and reasonable adjustments for students with additional learning needs, where required.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, College leaders and support staff in programming, curriculum development, assessment design, moderation, resourcing, intervention and extension, and the ongoing improvement of teaching and learning.
- Participate fully in staff meetings, professional learning, classroom observation and reflective practice, College events, pastoral or Homeroom responsibilities, playground and relief duties, and other reasonable responsibilities associated with the role.
- Maintain accurate records and positive, professional communication with students, staff and families regarding student learning, progress and wellbeing.

Selection Criteria

Applicants must:

- Demonstrate a personal commitment to Christian education and a willingness to support the values, ethos and mission of Dale Christian College.
- Possess recognised and appropriate teaching qualifications suitable for teaching Secondary Science in a Western Australian school.
- Hold current Teacher Registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA) or be eligible to obtain appropriate registration prior to commencement. Limited Registration may be considered where qualifications are appropriate.
- Demonstrate robust knowledge of the Western Australian Science curriculum and contemporary, evidence-informed pedagogy for Secondary students; experience teaching WACE and ATAR Science (preference Chemistry) will be highly regarded.
- Demonstrate strong skills in curriculum planning, explicit instruction, differentiation, classroom management, assessment, moderation, feedback and the use of student achievement data to inform teaching and support student progress.
- Work collaboratively as part of a Science and Secondary teaching team, including contributing to programming,



curriculum development, moderation, resourcing and a positive Christ-centred College community.

- Active involvement in a Christian church or faith community.
- Acceptance of the College’s Statement of Faith.
- The ability to build positive and supportive relationships with Secondary students, staff and families.
- A commitment to professional integrity, reflective practice, sound judgment, ongoing professional learning and teaching practice aligned with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
- A willingness to follow College policies, procedures and professional expectations.
- A commitment to maintaining a child-safe, inclusive and healthy workplace and learning environment, exercising appropriate duty of care and supporting the wellbeing of students.

- National Police Clearance
- Current TRBWA teacher registration, or eligibility for appropriate registration prior to commencement
- First Aid Certificate
- Valid Australian work rights
