- Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $112,375 to $124,158 + super

Our Remote Sensing and Landscape Science team is currently seeking to appoint a Scientist (Spatial) to support the evaluation of the NSW Land Management and Biodiversity Conservation (LMBC) reforms through spatial analysis, biodiversity mapping and environmental data insights. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your technical expertise to projects that inform environmental policy and contribute to evidence-based conservation outcomes across NSW.

As a Scientist (Spatial), you will undertake computer-based mapping, spatial analysis and environmental data management to support biodiversity and land management programs. Working within a collaborative and geographically dispersed team, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality scientific outputs, including spatial modelling, data interpretation and the development of tools and resources that support environmental decision-making. You'll have the opportunity to work with large and complex datasets, apply contemporary GIS and programming techniques, and collaborate with scientists and stakeholders to deliver meaningful outcomes for the environment

About You

- Demonstrated experience in spatial analysis, environmental mapping and the management of biodiversity or environmental datasets.
- Strong technical skills in GIS and spatial analysis tools, including ArcGIS, R, Python and/or open-source spatial platforms.
- Experience using Power BI to create dashboards, reporting solutions and data visualisations




- Ability to analyse complex data, identify meaningful insights and communicate technical information clearly to a range of audiences.
- Proven capability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams while managing competing priorities and delivering quality outcomes.
- Relevant scientific qualifications and a commitment to scientific rigour, innovation, continuous learning and best-practice data management.
