Our client is a high profile, NSW government department that provides extensive legal and social services

Role description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Agile Project Manager to plan, lead, and deliver a portfolio of complex initiatives through high‑performing Agile teams. This role focuses on enabling teams to work effectively within an established Agile framework, ensuring successful delivery outcomes are aligned with organisational strategy.

You will be an exceptional communicator, confident in engaging and presenting to stakeholders across all levels of seniority and varying degrees of technical expertise. A key aspect of the role is coaching, mentoring, and supporting teams to improve their Agile ways of working.

You will proactively identify delivery risks, issues, impediments, and blockers at critical stages of the project lifecycle, and work collaboratively with teams and stakeholders to facilitate practical, value‑driven solutions.

Partnering closely with business stakeholders, you will empower Agile teams to deliver technology solutions that support strategic objectives, enabling innovative digital capabilities, enhanced user experiences, and improved business efficiency.

This role suits a highly organised and motivated Project Manager who thrives in a fast‑paced, complex environment. You will lead and support a multidisciplinary team of Developers, Business Analysts, and Testers, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability.

Responsibilities

- Manage the planning and delivery of projects




- Develop and implement project management plans to ensure the success of projects
- Regularly communicate with key stakeholders to ensure project outcomes are met
- Coaching, mentoring and supporting teams to improve their Agile ways of working
- Work collaboratively with teams and stakeholders to facilitate practical, value‑driven solutions
- Manage project resources to ensure business objectives are achieved on time and within budget
- Monitor progress of the projects including risks, issues, dependencies and benefits
- Manage and monitor project budget and expenditure
- Complete mandatory project documentation and fulfil record and reporting requirements for the projects
- Overseeing and maintaining detailed and up to date incoming and outgoing project documentation
- Project closures

Requirements:

- Minimum of 5 years ICT project management experience at the enterprise level
- Experience leading and managing the delivery of projects - focusing on business transformation and technology
- Experience leading and supporting a multidisciplinary team of Developers, Business Analysts, and Testers - fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability.
- Qualifications and experience in Agile program and project management methodologies




- Ability to successfully prioritise, manage and deliver upon multiple streams of work.
- Track record of ensuring that projects are delivered on time and on budget, with the project scope controlled
- High level of management skills including the ability to lead, plan and mentor to produce high standards of results on budget within tight timeframes
- Strong vendor management experience (IT service providers)
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Bachelor degree or higher qualification in Information technology, Business, Engineering or Science
- Advanced verbal communication, documentation and presentation skills
- Good understanding of application development, system integration and design as well as business analysis methodologies - with both CoTS and bespoke development
- Experience in taking ownership and mobilising a diverse collaborative team to work within a fast paced environment
- NSW government experience an advantage
- Strong experience in coaching and leading Agile teams

Duration :6 months from the start date Payrate : PAYG $1100 per day

Working hours: 8hours/day, 40hours/week

Work location: 6 Parramatta Square with WFH set-up
