6-month contract | Perth | Major operational technology program

This isn't your standard Business Analyst role.

We're looking for someone who can sit comfortably in the middle of business, technology, procurement and vendors and help a major organisation make an important technology investment decision.

The program is moving through the vendor evaluation and award stage for technology supporting a complex rail environment. The requirements have been defined, the market has been approached and the focus now turns to evaluating the options, challenging vendor responses and helping determine which solution represents the best technical and commercial fit.

You'll work closely with operational stakeholders, technical teams, architects, procurement and external vendors – looking beyond whether a solution simply ticks the requirements and considering technical capability, commercial value, risk, delivery approach and operational fit.

You'll be involved in vendor clarifications, presentations and demonstrations, technical and commercial evaluations, due diligence and contract award activities. You'll also help develop the documentation behind the decision – evaluation reports, recommendation for award papers, business case inputs, risk and benefits assessments and executive/governance briefings.

We're being quite specific about the experience we're looking for.





You'll ideally be a Senior Technical Business Analyst or Commercial Business Analyst with 7+ years' experience who has personally been involved in the procurement and selection of complex technology solutions.

We want to see genuine experience across RFP/RFT processes, vendor evaluation and scoring, technical and commercial assessment, vendor selection and contract award – rather than someone whose vendor experience has only started after a solution was selected.

Experience working with systems integrators and major technology vendors will be significant, as will the ability to translate operational requirements into something that can be evaluated technically and commercially.

A background in rail would be highly regarded , particularly if you've worked around rail operational technology, scheduling/logistics, control centre systems, communications, asset management or network/digital infrastructure.

However, we'd also be interested in strong candidates from mining, resources, transport, utilities, infrastructure or other Operational Technology environments where you've worked on complex technology procurement and vendor selection.
