We are a business and tax advisory firm located in Preston. We work closely with our clients across tax, compliance, structuring and business advisory, with a strong focus on building long-term relationships and providing practical advice.

We continue to grow and are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our existing team of 19.

About the role

We're looking for someone with at least 4–5 years' experience in business services and tax, who is comfortable dealing directly with clients and wants to continue developing both technically and professionally.

The role will include

- Preparation and review of financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals.
- Preparation of SMSF financial statements and income tax returns.
- BAS and other compliance work.
- Tax planning and preparation of tax advice.
- Assisting with business and group restructures.
- Tax research and advice across a broad range of matters.
- Working with Xero and other cloud-based accounting and business software.
- Involvement in business advisory services and meetings.
- Regular communication with clients and attendance at client meetings.
- Working across a broad range of small to medium businesses and family groups.

This isn't a role where you'll be limited to preparing financial statements and tax returns. We want our accountants involved with clients, understanding their businesses and helping them with the issues that come up along the way. As you develop, you'll have the opportunity to become involved in more complex client matters, tax advice, structuring and business advisory work.

About you

The right person will:




- Have a minimum of 4–5 years' Australian public practice experience in business services and tax.
- Be CA or CPA qualified, or working towards completing their qualification.
- Have strong technical accounting and tax knowledge.
- Be confident using Xero and other cloud-based accounting software.
- Be comfortable communicating directly with clients.
- Have valuable attention to detail and take ownership of their work.
- Be willing to ask questions, continue learning and contribute to the wider team.
- Have a good understanding of AI and how it can be used within an accounting firm to improve efficiency and the way we work.
- Be open to new technology and looking for better ways of doing things.
