Leading Fed Government Department is looking for 2 x Lead Data Engineers - 12-24 month Contract - Microsoft Azure focused role

We're working with a leading Australian organisation looking for Lead Data Engineers to join a growing data engineering function and help shape a modern cloud data platform.

n

This is a hands-on lead role, working across MS Azure to design and deliver scalable data solutions supporting enterprise analytics, reporting and AI initiatives.

n

The Role

n

You'll work closely with Data Architects, Engineers and business stakeholders to:

n

n
- Lead the design and development of Microsoft Azure data solutions
n
- AWS and Snowflake are also desirable
n
- Build scalable, reliable data pipelines and data products
n
- Design data models and cloud data architecture for enterprise environments
n
- Drive engineering standards around data quality, performance, CI/CD and automation
n




- Mentor and support other Data Engineers
n
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions
n
- Contribute to the ongoing modernisation of the organisation's data platform
n

n

About You

n

You'll ideally have:

n

n
- Strong commercial experience across Microsoft Azure
n
- Advanced SQL and strong data engineering fundamentals
n
- Experience designing and building enterprise-scale data pipelines
n
- Solid understanding of cloud data architecture and data modelling
n
- Experience with Python, dbt, Airflow and AWS native data services
n
- Snowflake is also desirable
n
- Experience leading technical delivery and mentoring engineers
n
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
n

Candidates can be based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane and must be Australian Citizens.
