Role Description

The Senior Colour Consultant is a full-time, in office role based in Epping, VIC, responsible for guiding clients through interior and exterior colour selections for new homes and renovations. In this role, the consultant conducts client appointments, presents curated colour schemes, and recommends finishes, materials, and fixtures that align with design guidelines, budget, and client preferences. Day-to-day tasks include preparing colour boards and documentation, updating selection schedules, coordinating with design, sales, and construction teams, and ensuring selections are accurately communicated and recorded.

The consultant also keeps up to date with design trends, supplier offerings, and product changes, supports display home and showroom presentation, and provides expert advice to internal stakeholders on colour and material compatibility. The role requires regular client interaction,



detailed follow-up, and a focus on delivering a smooth, professional selection experience.

Qualifications

- Strong expertise in colour theory, interior design principles, and material selection for residential homes.
- Experience conducting client consultations, interpreting client needs, and translating them into cohesive design solutions.
- Proficiency in preparing colour boards, selection documentation, and visual presentations, including basic use of design or layout software.
- Solid organisational and time-management abilities, with accuracy in record-keeping and managing multiple client appointments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain design choices clearly and build positive client relationships.
- Collaborative approach to working with sales, design, and construction teams to ensure selections are practical, compliant, and buildable.
- Previous experience in residential building, interior design, or colour consulting, ideally in a volume or custom home environment.
- Relevant qualifications in interior design, decoration, or a related field are highly regarded; equivalent experience will also be considered.
- Knowledge of current design trends, local market preferences, and supplier products within the Australian residential housing sector.
- Commitment to inclusive, client-centered service and a professional approach in an on-site showroom or office environment.
