What we are looking for
We are looking for senior consultants with more than 10 years’ experience who can bring strong technical expertise, established client networks and a winning-work mindset. You will apply your expertise across a diverse portfolio of projects, helping shape practical outcomes across agriculture, water, economics and regional communities.
Areas of greatest chance
WATER
Groundwater, irrigation, water resource management.
AGRICULTURE
Soil science, plant nutrition, irrigated agriculture, agribusiness.
ECONOMICS
Applied economics – agriculture and water focus.
Location
We have offices and staff across Victoria, Tasmania, NSW and Queensland. The location of these positions is negotiable, however our preference is to be based in one of our offices in Bendigo, Melbourne, Torquay or Warragul in Victoria, Hobart or Launceston in Tasmania, or Orange in New South Wales.
The work you could do The work you could undertake could include:
- Applied technical analysis and modelling
- Planning, evaluating and implementing policy, programs and strategy
- Stakeholder consultation, engagement and data gathering
- Preparing clear, plain English reports that capture findings, insights and recommendations
- Managing projects and liaising directly with clients
- Presenting findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders
- Building on client networks, identifying work opportunities and leading proposal development
- Mentoring and guiding other members of the team.

Key selection criteria
We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate:
Technical expertise: Strong specialist knowledge and the ability to apply it to deliver high-quality outcomes and solve complex problems
Business development: Strong client networks and the ability to identify and develop business opportunities
Project delivery and collaboration:
Ability to lead and deliver projects, manage competing priorities and work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
Communication: Clearly written and verbal communication, including the ability to present technical and analytical findings to different audiences.
Previous consulting experience is highly desirable.
Qualification requirements A tertiary qualification in agriculture, science, engineering, economics or a related discipline

SALARY The remuneration package for the position will be negotiated with the preferred applicant and is dependent on technical knowledge and experience.
