Our Conservation Programs team is seeking to appoint a Senior Data & Reporting Officer (Saving our Species) to play a key role in supporting the NSW Government's threatened species conservation program. In this role, you will provide high-quality data analysis, reporting and insights to inform strategic planning, program delivery and performance evaluation.
Working within the Threatened Species and Ecosystems team, you will collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders, utilise GIS and database systems, and develop evidence-based reporting that helps drive conservation outcomes across NSW. This is an exciting opportunity to combine your analytical expertise with meaningful environmental impact while working in a collaborative and purpose-driven team.
About You
- Demonstrated experience in data analysis, reporting and translating complex information into meaningful insights for decision-makers.
- Strong experience working with databases and data management systems, including maintaining data integrity and supporting reporting requirements.
- Experience using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and spatial data to analyse and communicate information.
- Proven ability to develop reporting frameworks, performance measures and evaluation tools to support program outcomes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends, risks and opportunities through data.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical information to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams, manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes in a dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of biodiversity conservation, threatened species programs or environmental data management will be highly regarded.
- Tertiary qualifications in science, environmental management, data analytics or a related discipline.
Key knowledge and experience
- Knowledge of current NSW threatened species and biodiversity conservation programs and regional strategies including issues relating to their management
- Experience in the use of database and Geographic Information Systems, and interfaces for presenting biodiversity conservation values and knowledge or ability to develop skills in the use of tools for biodiversity planning.
