Description

We're all about helping our members make the most of their money. And while they go after their goals, you can too. As a Senior Financial Crimes Analyst, you'll support the Financial Crimes team and broader business by monitoring operational financial crime risk, conducting investigations, analysing emerging threats, and providing trusted advice on risk and financial crime matters.

You'll work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure financial crime risks are identified, managed, and continuously improved.

You'll have the opportunity to contribute to fraud risk management, AML/CTF monitoring, transaction reviews, strategic projects, regulatory reporting support, and the ongoing enhancement of financial crime systems and controls. You'll also act as a key escalation point, supporting team capability through coaching, mentoring, and operational guidance when required.

This role is a permanent opportunity and is based in Brisbane or Melbourne.

Responsibilities

Day to day, you'll:

- Support fraud risk and AML/CTF programs through the investigation and assessment of suspicious activities and matters.
- Review and monitor financial crime alerts, transaction monitoring outcomes, customer screening results, and forensic reporting.
- Assess high-risk transactions and provide guidance on AML/CTF-related business queries.
- Identify emerging financial crime risks, trends, and control improvement opportunities.
- Partner with business teams to embed financial crime controls and deliver training and awareness activities.
- Contribute to strategic projects, risk assessments, and system enhancement initiatives.
- Support complex investigations, evidence gathering,

and regulatory reporting activities.
- Assist with team operations, workflow management, mentoring, and escalation support.

Qualifications It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:

- You have experience conducting financial crime investigations, analysis, and fraud-related activities.
- Your knowledge includes regulatory expectations and frameworks relevant to financial services, including bodies such as ASIC, AUSTRAC, and APRA.
- You'll bring strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail and analytical capability.
- You're confident building relationships, influencing stakeholders, and supporting change initiatives.
- You can identify regulatory impacts and translate them into practical risk and control outcomes.
- Your experience may include compliance, risk management, or financial services environments.
- You'll have strong technology skills, particularly in data analysis and forensic systems.
- You're ideally tertiary qualified in a relevant discipline, with superannuation industry experience viewed favourably.
