Role Description The Senior Information Technology System Administrator is a full-time, in office role based in Newcastle, NSW. This role is responsible for managing and maintaining Pulse’s core IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and business-critical systems that support the Pulse ERP platform and internal operations. Day-to-day activities include configuring and monitoring systems, managing user accounts and permissions, ensuring system security and data integrity, and performing regular backups and updates. The role also involves diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues, providing escalated technical support to internal teams,
and collaborating with developers and other stakeholders to ensure system performance and reliability.
The Senior System
Administrator will contribute to IT strategy, document procedures, and help drive improvements in IT processes and technologies.
Qualifications
- Strong System Administration skills, including server configuration, operating system management, virtualization, and backup and recovery.
- Proficiency in Network Administration, covering routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and network performance monitoring.
- Experience providing advanced Technical Support, including user support, incident management, and root-cause analysis.
- Excellent Troubleshooting abilities for complex hardware, software, and network issues in an enterprise environment.
- Solid foundation in Information Technology principles, including security best practices, cloud services, and IT governance.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in administering ERP or similar enterprise applications is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and document systems and procedures effectively.
- Demonstrated capacity to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and maintain high standards of reliability and security in a fast-paced environment.
