About the studioMatters + Made is a Sydney design studio working across high-end residential, multi-residential developments and short-stay accommodation, full scope from first concept through to handover. Founder Chloe Matters has been in the industry for over 15 years having previously founded TomMarkHenry and worked between European property development and major Australian hospitality, commercial and high-end residential projects.

Our vision is to uncover the true intent of every project, then take our clients on a team-oriented journey to deliver spaces that respond to context, commercial purpose and the experience of every person who will use them. That means clients are in the room with us rather than waiting for a reveal, and it means we bring the same discipline to scheduling and documentation as we do to the design itself. A considered space is only considered if it gets built properly.

The roleThis is the senior seat, and it comes with the autonomy to match. You will lead projects end to end, run the client relationship, and hold the concept steady from the first presentation through to handover.

Day to day, that looks like:

- Leading interior design projects from concept through to completion, including space planning and design development
- Owning client relationships, presenting with confidence, and translating a brief into something people did not know they wanted
- Coordinating with architects, consultants and contractors so the idea survives contact with the build




- Preparing and reviewing construction drawings, documentation, joinery and architectural detailing
- Leading FF&E; selection and specification, from finishes and fixtures through to furniture
- Solving the problem in front of you when the timeline moves, the budget shifts or the stone gets discontinued
- Getting on site, often, because drawings only tell you so much
- Leading and mentoring the design team, and shaping studio standards, process and design vision

What you bring
- A creative genius. Original thinking, real point of view, and the confidence to defend it
- Excellent communication and client relationship management. Clients should feel looked after, informed and genuinely heard
- The ability to pivot. Things change, and you solve rather than stall

- Autonomy and proven experience leading a team, with the judgement to make the call yourself
- Comfort in a fast paced studio, running multiple projects without dropping the thread
- 7+ years experience in interior design, with time in a senior or lead role
- SketchUp wiz, and fluent in Programa
- Strong documentation skills, a solid understanding of construction processes, and familiarity with local building codes and regulations
- A degree in interior design, interior architecture or a related field
