About the role The Personal Injury Lawyer is responsible for managing a caseload of plaintiff personal injury matters, delivering high-quality legal advice and representation to clients who have suffered injury or loss. Reporting to a Partner, the role involves handling claims from initial instruction through to resolution, advocating for clients' rights, and achieving favourable outcomes while maintaining exceptional client care. The case load will consist of motor vehicle accident claims, public liability claims, and WorkCover claims in the Queensland jurisdiction.

Key responsibilities

- Manage a caseload of personal injury matters including motor vehicle accidents, workplace injuries, public liability and other compensation claims

- Conduct initial client consultations and assess liability, quantum, and prospects of success

- Develop and implement case strategies under Partner guidance

- Prepare and lodge claims in accordance with relevant legislation and timeframes

- Gather evidence including medical reports, expert opinions, witness statements and employment records

- Draft legal documents,



correspondence, pleadings and settlement submissions

- Brief counsel and liaise with medico-legal experts

- Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, compulsory conferences and court proceedings

About you

- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD)

- Admission as a legal practitioner in Queensland

- Current practising certificate

- Minimum 3 years' post-admission experience (PAE) in plaintiff personal injury law

- Demonstrated experience applying Queensland personal injury legislation, including Motor Accident Insurance Act 1994 (QLD), Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003 (QLD), and Personal Injuries Proceedings Act 2002 (QLD)

- Client-focused and compassionate with solid emotional intelligence

- High level of professionalism, discretion and integrity

- Resilient and able to manage sensitive matters

- Commercial awareness and sound judgement

- Commitment to continuous professional development
