Precast Structures is a growing precast concrete manufacturer supplying quality products to the commercial construction industry. As we grow, we are looking for an experienced Senior Precast Shop Detailer / Draftsperson to join us and work directly alongside our Operations Manager.

This is more than a drafting role. You already know precast — the concrete, the reinforcement, the manufacturing realities. What we are offering is the chance to see how a precast project moves from tender all the way through to manufacture and delivery, and to grow with the business as it does.

The role

Reporting to and working closely with the Operations Manager, you will:

- Produce accurate precast shop drawings ready for manufacture
- Interpret and review architectural, structural and engineering drawings
- Coordinate and review shop drawings before they hit production
- Prepare material take-offs for panels and associated components, and support estimating and tendering
- Assist with preparing and reviewing project documentation
- Coordinate drawing requirements across engineering, production and project teams
- Spot detailing, manufacturing and construction issues before they reach the factory floor
- Help resolve technical issues throughout the manufacturing process
- Liaise with engineers, builders, architects and other stakeholders




- Ensure drawings hold true to the design intent while remaining practical to manufacture
- Support production planning, project coordination and the wider technical side of the operation
- Contribute to improving how we detail, estimate and manufacture

About you

You are an experienced detailer with a strong grounding in commercial precast concrete who can hit the ground running. You will bring:

- A minimum of 5 years as a detailer / draftsperson, including at least 5 years detailing precast concrete panels
- A strong track record producing precast shop drawings for manufacture
- Sound knowledge of precast construction — reinforcement, cast-ins, lifting systems, connections and manufacturing requirements
- The ability to read and interpret architectural, structural and engineering documentation
- Sharp attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience with material and quantity take-offs
- A knack for identifying problems early and finding practical solutions
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
- A practical understanding of how a drawing becomes a manufactured product

Experience with Tekla Structures, AutoCAD or similar detailing software will be highly regarded.
