The Role
As the Senior Program Officer in the Grants and Program Management team, you will support the manager and director leading the delivery of the administration of Local Government Divisions grants to local government. The team maintain strategic and effective networks across Local Government Division, with local governments and other stakeholders to ensure service delivery outcomes are achieved.
Key Accountabilities and Duties
- Develop, implement and monitor funding support arrangements (grants and subsidies programs) to the local government sector using evidence based analytics to inform program design.
- Undertake systematic collection, research, analysis, and interpretation of complex data gathered from local governments and other sources to monitor funding support performance and manage risk.
- Develop a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement that facilitates the ongoing identification, development and implementation of best practice grant management business processes and tools required to realise efficiencies which contribute to the achievement of the Division's outcomes.
- Build,
foster and maintain strategic and effective networks across Local Government Division, with local governments and other stakeholders to ensure service delivery outcomes are achieved.
- Prepare timely and well-researched briefings, reports, submissions and correspondence, including reports and briefing notes for the Minister, Director- General and Deputy Director-General.
About You
- Proven experience working in grants and subsidies programs.
- Highly organised to manage competing priorities and delivery quality outcomes.
- Strong communication skills to build internal and external relationships with local government stakeholders.
- Experience working with or within the local government sector.
