About the role

We are seeking experienced Senior Project Managers to work with our multidisciplinary teams to lead and deliver complex ICT and non-ICT projects, business transformation initiatives and business cases for federal government clients.

The role requires you to:

- Lead the successful delivery of complex projects, programs and workstreams across ICT, non-ICT, business transformation and operational capability initiatives.
- Work closely with clients and stakeholders to define project objectives, establish delivery approaches and drive outcomes aligned to strategic priorities.
- Lead or support project governance, planning, scheduling, financial management, reporting, risk and issue management, assurance and delivery oversight activities.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with executives, business owners, delivery teams, vendors and other stakeholders.




- Lead multidisciplinary teams in both agile and plan-driven delivery environments.
- Monitor project performance, identify emerging risks and opportunities, and implement effective mitigation and improvement strategies.
- Provide leadership, advice and recommendations to support effective decision-making by senior stakeholders.
- Develop and deliver high-quality project reporting, presentations, workshops and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Support organisational change and adoption activities to maximise the successful implementation of project outcomes.
- Be based in Canberra.

About you We are looking for Canberra-based, high performing Senior Project Managers who bring professionalism, leadership, and a strong delivery focus, and want to work within a positive, inclusive and supportive team.

The following criteria are essential for you to be considered for this role:

- Experience working within Commonwealth Government.
- Experience working within large, complex ICT, non-ICT, business transformation or organisational change environments.
- Demonstrated experience successfully leading and delivering projects and workstreams through the full project lifecycle.
- Solid capability in project governance, planning, scheduling, financial management, risk and issue management, and stakeholder engagement.




- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing competing priorities in complex delivery environments.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all organisational levels, including senior executives.
- A minimum of 5 years’ project management experience in Australia.
- Canberra-based location.
- Current AGSVA Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) Security Clearance (or higher) and Australian work rights.

The following skills and experience are highly desirable:
- A Bachelor’s degree, completed or in progress.
- Demonstrated experience in large scale ERP, digital transformation, business transformation and/or organisational change projects and programs.
- Experience managing ICT-enabled projects, applications development initiatives and technology implementations.
- Experience managing non-ICT projects, including facilities, infrastructure, capital works and/or operational capability initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience operating in agile, hybrid and plan-driven delivery environments.
- Experience with Commonwealth Government business case development.
- Experience working within Defence or other national security environments.
- Relevant project management certifications and/or memberships, such as PRINCE2, PMP, Agile certifications, MSP or equivalent.
- (Optional) Experience working in PMO environments, including specialising in areas including benefits management, assurance, integrated master scheduling and financial/cost management.
