Senior Tax Accountant – Genuine Partnership Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our established boutique accounting, tax and financial advisory firm in Melbourne's eastern suburbs.

The role

n

You will manage a diverse portfolio of clients, providing high-quality accounting, taxation and business advisory services. Your responsibilities will include:

n

Managing a portfolio of business, investment and individual clients

n

Preparation and review of financial statements and tax returns

n

Preparation of company, trust, partnership and individual tax returns

n

Tax planning and providing practical taxation advice

n

Preparation and review of BAS and other compliance obligations

n

Providing accounting and business advisory services to clients

n

Developing strong, long-term client relationships

n

Identifying opportunities to improve client outcomes and internal processes

n

Collaborating with colleagues across the business to deliver exceptional client service

n

Liaising with the ATO and other professional advisers

n

Reviewing work and mentoring junior team members

n

Maintaining high professional and ethical standards

n

Taking an active role in the continued growth and development of the practice

n

About you

n

We are looking for a senior, technically strong and commercially minded accountant who is ready for the next stage of their career.

n

You will have:

n





10+ years' experience in Australian public practice

n

A tertiary qualification in Accounting

n

CA or CPA qualification

n

Strong Australian tax and accounting knowledge

n

Demonstrated experience preparing financial statements and tax returns

n

Significant experience managing a portfolio of clients independently

n

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

n

A high level of attention to detail and professional judgement

n

The ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to the wider team

n

A genuine interest in business advisory and client relationships

n

Strong experience with cloud-based accounting platforms

n

The confidence and maturity to take on increasing responsibility within the practice

n
