Primary objective The Senior Teacher is responsible for maximising student outcomes through the leadership and management of learning interventions, individualised learning plans and student wellbeing programs to achieve optimal educational outcomes for all students including those with a disability and special educational needs.

Context statement

Larapinta Primary School is an urban primary school situated in Alice Springs. The school has an enrolment of approximately

350 students including preschool. Approximately 40% of students are Indigenous.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. In consultation with teachers and leadership team, identify students requiring individualised Educational Adjustment





Plans and provide support to teachers to implement and monitor adjustments within these plans to measure their effectiveness.

1. Use quantitative and qualitative student data to collaborate with teachers to design individualised Educational

Adjustment Plans.
1. Liaise with external support agencies about students with additional needs to meet their educational outcomes.

2. Consult regularly with families to review student progress and support as per individualised educational adjustment

plans.
- Collect and collate information on students’ needs, adjustments and record consultation with family to meet

Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) reporting requirements.

- As required, deliver learning or behaviour interventions for select students and undertake an appropriate teaching load.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Registration with the Teacher Registration Board of the Northern Territory (NT) and a current NT Working with Children

Clearance (Ochre Card) or ability to obtain.
- Proven ability to work within a cross-cultural school workplace, interact effectively with people of diverse cultures and successfully develop effective partnerships with parents and the community.
- Sound knowledge of current and emerging theory and practice in Inclusive Practices, including trauma responsive strategies and a demonstrated capacity to collect and analyse data.
- Strong knowledge of and ability to apply the principles of the Australian Curriculum and NCCD guidelines and principles and demonstrated ability to apply differentiated practices and principles to improve student wellbeing and academic outcomes.

1. Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with colleagues, students and parents including proven

conflict resolution skills.
1. Relevant involvement in or potential to develop skills in leading professional learning.
