About the role

Our client is seeking a practical and adaptable Site Engineer to support the delivery of equipment installation and upgrade works across the Central Coast and Newcastle region. This is a hands-on coordination role combining engineering judgement, procurement, construction documentation and site delivery. The technical complexity is relatively manageable, so candidates do not need experience within a particular industry.

The successful candidate will work alongside the existing Project Manager before becoming the primary site-based engineer while he is on leave. Two experienced Site Supervisors will manage the day-to-day workforce and construction activities.

Key responsibilities

- Review supplier and subcontractor quotations from an engineering perspective
- Coordinate procurement, equipment deliveries and subcontractor activities
- Plan upcoming works and help maintain productivity across the site team
- Support two experienced Site Supervisors with engineering information and documentation
- Review drawings, specifications and construction documentation
- Understand and review documents such as lift plans,



SWMS and safety documentation
- Coordinate with clients, principal contractors, suppliers and project stakeholders
- Monitor progress and identify technical or delivery issues
- Provide practical engineering guidance during installation and upgrade works
- Complete project reporting, document control and general project administration

About you

- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline
- Approximately two to five years of engineering, project or construction experience
- The ability to interpret drawings, quotations, specifications and site documentation
- Experience supporting equipment installation, upgrades or construction activities
- Robust verbal communication and client-facing skills
- The ability to communicate effectively with trades, supervisors and Tier 1 clients
- A practical, adaptable and hands-on approach
- The confidence to work independently as the site-based engineer
- A current driver's licence and reliable transport
