Site Engineer – Rail | Contract | Perth WA

About the role

MMD Recruitment is seeking an experienced Site Engineer – Rail for a contract opportunity with a leading Tier 1 organisation delivering a major rail infrastructure project in Perth, Western Australia. This is an excellent prospect for a Site Engineer with proven rail or major infrastructure experience to join a high-performing project team working on a significant Perth-based programme of works.

You will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day delivery of construction activities, coordinating subcontractors, managing quality and technical requirements, and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project specifications.

Rail project experience is essential for this position.

Key responsibilities

- Manage and coordinate day-to-day site engineering activities across the project
- Ensure construction works comply with drawings, specifications, ITPs and contractual requirements
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, plant and site personnel
- Undertake site inspections and monitor quality, safety and construction progress
- Prepare daily site reports, progress records and construction documentation
- Assist with RFIs, technical queries, design coordination and resolving site issues
- Monitor programme activities and identify potential delays or construction risks
- Work closely with Project Engineers, Project Managers and the wider delivery team
- Support testing, commissioning, handover and completion activities where required
- Maintain a strong focus on safety and compliance within a live rail environment

About you

To be considered, you will ideally have:
- A degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline




- Minimum 3–5 years' Site Engineering experience
- Previous rail infrastructure experience is essential
- Experience working on major civil or infrastructure projects in Australia
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, QA documentation and site delivery
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong subcontractor and stakeholder management skills
- Sound knowledge of Australian construction and WHS requirements
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Current Australian driver's licence
- Full Australian working rights

Experience working for a Tier 1 contractor or on major rail infrastructure projects will be highly regarded. Experience across track, civil works, structures, stations, signalling, electrification or rail possessions would also be advantageous.
