Site Manager – Commercial Fit-out Projects

? Salary: $180,000 – $250,000 +super
About the Company An industry-leading commercial fit-out contractor is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join its growing Melbourne team.

The company delivers a diverse range of commercial fit-out projects across sectors including retail, hospitality, workplace, education and other commercial environments.
The Role
As Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and successful delivery of commercial fit-out projects, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, to a high standard and in accordance with the project.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day site operations of commercial fit-out projects from beginning through to practical completion and handover.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trades, suppliers and site personnel.
- Plan and manage site activities in accordance with project and construction schedules.
- Coordinate multiple trades to ensure efficient sequencing and minimise delays.
- Conduct daily site inspections and monitor construction progress.
- Ensure all works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
- Drive and maintain high standards of WHS, site safety and environmental compliance.
- Conduct toolbox meetings, site inductions and regular safety inspections as required.
- Identify and resolve site issues, construction conflicts and coordination challenges.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, consultants, architects, engineers and clients.
- Monitor subcontractor performance, workmanship and productivity.
- Assist with procurement, deliveries, materials and site logistics.
- Manage RFIs, site instructions, variations and construction-related documentation.
- Monitor project delivery and provide regular progress updates.
- Manage defects, rectification works and final handover.
- Maintain a clean, organised and professionally managed site.
- Identify potential project risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, consultants and project stakeholders.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, to the required quality standard and in accordance with project requirements.
About You The successful candidate will have proven experience as a Site Manager, Site Supervisor or similar construction leadership role, preferably within the commercial fit-out industry.
You will ideally have
- Proven experience delivering commercial fit-out projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methodology, sequencing and site coordination.
- Experience across sectors such as retail, hospitality, workplace, education or commercial interiors.
- Strong subcontractor and trade management skills.
- Excellent understanding of WHS requirements and site safety practices.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings.
- Strong acumen and time-management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple trades and competing site priorities.
- A proactive, hands-on approach to site management.
- Relevant construction qualifications.
- Current White Card.
- Relevant Victorian construction/site management experience will be highly regarded.
