Burke Shire Council is seeking applications for the position of General Labourer / Operator. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands‐on work, variety in their day, and contributing to projects that directly benefit the local community.

About the role:

n

The primary purpose of this position is to support Councils Engineering Department, with a focus on assisting the Roads Construction and/or Maintenance team. You will work across a range of projects and may be required to assist with broader works operations, including roads, infrastructure, and depot activities, depending on operational requirements.

n

Duties may include:

n

n
- Assist with road construction and maintenance works
n
- General labouring duties across Council works
n
- Operation of plant and equipment (where licenced)
n




- Support depot and works operations as required
n
- Maintain a safe and compliant work environment
n

n

What We're Looking For:

n

n
- Experience in civil road works and/or general labouring
n
- Road construction or RMPC experience (desirable)
n
- HR, HC, MC or heavy machinery tickets (desirable)
n
- Strong work ethic, reliability and ability to work as part of a team
n
