S26 SMP Supervisor - BHP Project FIFO 2:1 | Port Hedland | Initial 3-Month Contract | $100/hr We are currently seeking an experienced S26 accredited SMP Supervisor for a major BHP project in Port Hedland , supporting the Bucket Wheel Reclaimer Upgrade and Port Outflow Debottlenecking Project .

This is an opportunity to join a major resources project with an initial 3-month contract on a 2:1 FIFO roster , with the broader project program running through to approximately December 2027 .

The Project The project involves the upgrade of a Bucket Wheel Reclaimer to increase capacity to 14,500 tonnes per hour , while extending the operating life of the machine through to 2044 .

The Upcoming Major Shutdown Is Scheduled From 17 September 2026 - 1 November 2026 The broader Port Infrastructure program includes multiple scopes of work and is expected to continue well beyond the initial shutdown, providing potential opportunities for ongoing employment for strong performers.

SMP Scope The SMP Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing structural, mechanical and piping works associated with the upgrade, including:

- Machine-wide upgrade works
- Boom area upgrades
- Slew deck and switchroom platform upgrades
- Counterweight boom and suspension works
- Pantograph works
- Substructure, portal and cross-equaliser upgrades
- Long travel system upgrades
- Chute upgrades
- Switchroom upgrades
- Reeler platform works
- Raw water systems
- Lubrication systems
- Guarding and off-board equipment

The Role You will provide strong site-based leadership across SMP activities,



coordinating trades and subcontractors and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities Include

- Supervise SMP construction and installation activities
- Coordinate crews, subcontractors and daily site activities
- Monitor productivity, progress and quality
- Ensure works are completed in accordance with project specifications and procedures
- Lead pre-starts, toolbox meetings and site coordination activities
- Liaise with construction and project management teams
- Identify and resolve construction issues on site
- Maintain a strong focus on safety and compliance
- Provide effective leadership across day and night shift operations

What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated experience as an SMP Supervisor on major mining, resources, industrial or shutdown projects
- Strong structural, mechanical and piping experience
- Previous experience supervising large site-based crews
- Shutdown experience highly regarded
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies and protected work practices
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work both day and night shifts
- BHP experience and/or previous major iron ore project experience highly regarded




- Ability to commit to a 2:1 FIFO roster

- Day shift: 6:00am - 6:00pm
- Night shift: 6:00pm - 6:00am

- Construction White Card
- Current driver's licence
- Relevant trade qualifications and/or role-specific qualifications
- Confined Space Entry certificate issued within the last 2 years
- Working Safely at Heights certificate issued within the last 2 years
- Passport-style headshot for site ID
- Ability to complete required BHP and contractor inductions
- BHP experience highly regarded
- MSIC preferred
