At the heart of the venue is a vibrant restaurant offering contemporary South East Asian-inspired food, with a focus on bold flavours, quality produce and an energetic dining experience. Supported by an experienced leadership team, the business offers a professional environment with a strong emphasis on culture, quality and development.
The client is seeking an experienced Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef to play an integral role in the day-to-day operation of the restaurant kitchen. Working alongside the senior culinary leadership team, this is a hands-on position suited to a chef who thrives during busy services and is passionate about South East Asian flavours, quality ingredients and consistently strong execution.
Key responsibilities include
- Support the daily leadership of a sizeable kitchen brigade, maintaining consistency and high standards across preparation and service
- Execute a contemporary South East Asian-inspired menu with a strong focus on flavour, technique, presentation and quality
- Lead services and provide clear direction, organisation and support to the wider kitchen team
- Mentor and develop junior chefs while contributing to a positive, collaborative and accountable kitchen culture
- Support operational performance across food costs, portion control, preparation, waste management, hygiene and food safety
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be an experienced Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef with a robust restaurant background and the confidence to take a leadership role in a busy kitchen. Experience with South East Asian cuisines will be highly regarded, along with a genuine appreciation for bold flavours, quality produce and contemporary cooking. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Proven experience in a Sous Chef, Senior Sous Chef or comparable senior kitchen position within a quality, high-volume restaurant
- Strong knowledge of South East Asian flavours, ingredients and cooking techniques
- The ability to lead, motivate and develop chefs in a fast-paced service environment
- Strong organisational and operational skills, with an understanding of food costs, preparation, waste and kitchen controls
- Excellent communication, attention to detail and a collaborative approach to kitchen leadership
