About The Role The Specialist Family Violence Practitioner is an integral member of the Family Violence team, providing high-quality intensive case management support to women and children who are experiencing or have experienced family violence, including women who choose to remain in a relationship. The role delivers client-centred, trauma-informed support that promotes safety, stability and recovery through a coordinated care team approach. Working within the MARAM framework, you will undertake comprehensive risk and needs assessments, safety planning and case management for women and children with multiple and complex needs. The role supports clients living in the community, emergency accommodation and transitional housing, and contributes to crisis responses and outreach service delivery.

This position is based in Hastings and includes participation in crisis response, duty rosters and community-based outreach. You will support women and children in a variety of settings, including emergency and transitional accommodation, and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver high-quality outreach case management services to women and children impacted by family violence
- Undertake MARAM comprehensive risk assessments, safety planning and case planning
- Support women and children with multiple and complex needs through trauma-informed practice
- Coordinate referrals and collaborate with specialist services and community partners
- Facilitate a multidisciplinary approach to achieving client goals and outcomes
- Support victim survivors living in emergency, transitional and community-based accommodation
- Advocate on behalf of clients to access appropriate supports and services
- Participate in duty and crisis response rosters
- Maintain accurate case notes, reports and client records
- Engage in team meetings, care team meetings, supervision and professional development
- Work within the MARAM framework and FVISS/CISS information-sharing schemes
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative and client-centred team culture

About You

- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or a related discipline




- Experience working within the family violence sector
- Demonstrated ability to undertake comprehensive risk and needs assessments and provide outreach case management
- Strong understanding of family violence and the ability to apply relevant theoretical frameworks to practice
- Experience supporting women and children with complex needs, including trauma, mental health, disability, substance use and parenting challenges
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong report writing, case note and record management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team while also working autonomously
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and contemporary family violence practice
- Current unrestricted Australian Driver Licence
- Current Employee Working with Children Check and satisfactory Police Check
- Experience working in a fast-paced family violence program and with high-risk clients (highly desirable)
