Step into a pivotal leadership role where strategy, people, and opportunity come together. We're looking for an ambitious and people-focused State Manager to lead our Victoria team. Based in Noble Park and reporting directly to the General Manager - Sales, this is your opportunity to drive meaningful impact and shape the future success of CMI.

As State Manager - VIC TAS , you'll bring our state sales strategy to life by leading and developing a high-performing team to achieve outstanding results. Working closely with the national team, you'll drive strategic initiatives, uphold QHSE standards, champion CMI’s values, and create a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.

About the role: As State Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping CMI’s success across Victoria, taking ownership of sales performance, leading a high-performing team, and delivering strategic growth in a competitive market.

- Leading the team to drive state sales success, deliver exceptional results, execute strategic initiatives, and strengthen CMI’s market presence.
- Building solid customer relationships while managing quotations, pricing decisions, sales pipelines, and back-order resolutions to deliver outstanding service and commercial outcomes.
- Identifying growth opportunities, analysing market trends, and using business insights to support strategic decision-making and performance improvement.
- Overseeing warehouse operations, inventory management, and purchasing activities to ensure stock accuracy, operational efficiency, and product availability.
- Leading, coaching, and developing team members through onboarding, training,



and mentoring to foster a high-performing and customer-focused culture.
- Collaborating closely with the General Manager - Sales and colleagues nationwide to share insights, support continuous improvement, and contribute to CMI’s strategic direction.
- Promoting a culture of safety, quality, compliance, accountability, and wellbeing across all aspects of the business.
- Maintaining accurate CRM records, reporting, and documentation to support effective communication, informed decision-making, and seamless business operations.
- Contributing to business initiatives, meetings, and projects with a proactive, solutions-focused approach while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.

Skills and Experiences:

About You:

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the electrical industry, electrical wholesaling, or a state/branch sales leadership role.
- Strong operational knowledge of stock control, warehouse operations, and purchasing processes, with the ability to work closely with supply teams to meet customer and business demand.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to maintain accurate records, reporting, and documentation.
- Proven experience preparing and reviewing quotations, ensuring accuracy, responsiveness, and commercial competitiveness.
- Possess sound costing and pricing experience, with the ability to balance profitability, customer value, and market competitiveness.
- Solid understanding of sales forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and using data-driven insights to support decision-making.
- Strong organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and customer relationship-building skills.




- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and key external stakeholders.
- Ability to provide clear direction, establish expectations, and maintain high standards of customer service and operational performance.
- Commitment to quality assurance, workplace health and safety, and compliance, supported by a proactive approach to maintaining high service standards.
