- Salary: Hourly rate of $48.65 (including casual loading) plus applicable allowances
We're on the lookout for skilled and experienced candidates to join our Lifeguard Services team as a Casual Beach Lifeguard for the Summer of 2026/2027. You will be supporting our permanent team during the peak school holiday period, helping us keep our beaches safe and fun for everyone.
About the role
As a City Lifeguard, you'll provide timely, skilled assistance to beachgoers, ensuring compliance with Local Laws, Regulations, and Policies.

Application Process (Essential Dates)
This is an expression of interest, with applications closing on Monday 26th October 2026
Fitness Assessments: Tuesday 3rd November 2026 (12pm - 4pm, Greenmount Beach) and Wednesday 4th November 2026 (12pm - 4pm Burleigh Beach). Both sessions are mandatory.
Pre-employment Medical Assessment: Week of 9 - 13 November 2026
Orientation and Induction: Tuesday 1st December 2026
About you
You're passionate about water safety and thrive on delivering high-quality customer service, ensuring every beachgoer has a safe and enjoyable experience. With proven lifeguarding experience, you bring practical knowledge of patrolling, responding to emergencies, and educating the public on beach and surf safety.
Your communication and interpersonal skills are top-notch, allowing you to effectively interact with the public, your team, and other organisations.
You excel in a team environment, building strong relationships with colleagues, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and policies.
You're also committed to keeping your qualifications current and ready to dive into action.
We're looking for people who have:
- An ocean lifeguard qualification - Statement of Attainment in Bronze Medallion, Australian Professional Ocean Lifeguard Award (APOLA) or equivalent
- Current QLD Working with Children's Blue Card
- Statement of Attainment in Advanced Resuscitation Techniques and First Aid
- Driver's Licence
- Jet ski (PWCL) or marine/boat licence highly desirable
