About the role

This is a key role within the business, combining structural steel estimating, client liaison and project coordination. You will work closely with management, engineers, project managers, clients and suppliers to ensure projects are accurately priced, well coordinated and successfully delivered. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates and quotations while also assisting with the coordination of projects from initial enquiry through to commencement and delivery.

Key responsibilities

- Review and interpret architectural, structural and engineering drawings, plans and specifications.
- Prepare accurate steel take-offs, quantities and material costings.
- Prepare detailed and competitive quotations for structural steel projects.
- Assess project requirements and identify material, labour and associated project costs.
- Liaise with clients to establish and confirm project requirements.
- Work closely with management, engineers and project managers to ensure estimates accurately reflect project scope and requirements.
- Assist with the preparation and handover of new projects to the project management team.
- Coordinate project requirements with clients, suppliers, site personnel and internal teams.
- Monitor project requirements, costs and schedules throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist with variations, additional works and associated costing as required.

About you

- Strong knowledge of the construction industry, with an understanding of structural steel components and fabrication.




- Experience in structural steel estimating, construction estimating or a related field.
- Excellent ability to read and interpret building and structural drawings.
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or industry estimating software would be highly regarded.
