We are seeking to establish a pool of Student Support Officers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Margaret River Senior High School (SHS) is an Independent Public School, playing an integral part of the Augusta - Margaret River community. Founded in 1952, the school has a rich history of student success and achievement. This tradition is upheld with a continued commitment to achieving personal and academic excellence.

A major strength of our school community is its strong links and partnerships with parents and the local community. Parents play a key role in planning for the future and participate in all aspects of school life. The strong sense of community and quality of relationships is a big part of what makes Margaret River SHS special.

The Role

Suitable applicants will play a key role in supporting students, families and staff through coordinated, practical and compassionate support systems that strengthen engagement, wellbeing and success at school. You will work closely with the student services team, teachers, families, leadership staff and external agencies to help remove barriers to learning and ensure students are supported both at school and within the wider community.

The Student Support Officer assists in coordinating the school’s student services and contributes to developing responsive systems that support students experiencing social, emotional, behavioural or engagement challenges. This is an opportunity to contribute to work that genuinely changes outcomes for young people.

This role would suit applicants who can balance empathy with organisation, and who enjoys working in a fast-paced setting where no two days are the same. The role requires the ability to maintain professional boundaries, exercise sound judgement, and work constructively within areas of responsibility and control, while combining coordination, collaboration and problem-solving.
