Leading Council's Property Services Unit, you will oversee the delivery of compliant, customer-focused property and land tenure outcomes while providing strategic direction to maximise the long-term social, economic and financial advantages of our property assets. What you’ll be doing:
- Lead and supervise the Property Services team, providing specialist property expertise to deliver strategic outcomes aligned with Council priorities and maintain a high-performing team culture.
- Establish, maintain and strengthen effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, service providers and specialist consultants, including legal representatives, valuers, surveyors, government agencies, property managers and real estate agents.
- Develop, implement and monitor the Unit's budget, operational plans and strategic objectives in alignment with Council priorities.
- Provide expert strategic advice, technical support, analysis and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders, including the Coordinator, Managers, Executive Leadership Team and Chief Executive Officer, on complex property, land tenure, property management and governance matters.
- Manage the engagement, procurement, performance and contractual outcomes of external contractors, consultants and specialist service providers in accordance with legislative and policy requirements.
What We’re Looking For:
- Tertiary qualifications in Law, management or other suitable qualifications and/or significant demonstrated experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated ability to manage highly confidential, sensitive and complex matters with a high degree of professionalism, sound judgement and discretion, while operating under the general direction of executive and senior management.
- Proven experience in providing specialist advice and recommendations on complex property, land tenure and governance matters.
- Ensure projects, tasks and operational responsibilities are delivered in accordance with legislative, policy and procedural requirements, while meeting agreed timeframes, service standards and performance targets. Monitor and support Property Services Officers to achieve individual and team objectives.
