Our client is seeking a Supply Chain Manager to oversee the procurement of raw materials and finished goods required to ensure continuity of supply. Added to this is the management of the warehousing and logistics of the distribution of finished goods to customers throughout Australia. This is a senior role involving the importation of both raw materials and finished goods requiring experience in managing long lead time supply chains critical to supporting the company's market offer.
Reporting to the MD your responsibilities consist of:
- Ensuring availability of raw material against forecast production
- Ensuring availability of externally sourced finished goods against sales forecast
- Inventory management of both raw materials and finished goods
- Ensuring that warehousing and logistics operations achieve high levels of DIFOT
- Ensuring that supplier relationships are well managed to maintain continuity of supply
- Ensuring all costs are managed effectively to reduce waste while supporting availability and timely supply of product
- Identifying and implementing improvement opportunities
- Timely provision of management reports
- Interstate and international travel required
Key Capabilities and Experience consist of:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent time management and planning skills
- Good computer skills and ability to use the Microsoft suite of products
- A minimum five years' experience at a senior level in supply chain and logistics in a B2B industrial environment
- Proven track record of operating cost-effective supply chains that support the company's market offer
- Commercially astute and highly ethical approach to doing business
