Commis Chef - Permanent Full time chef

About the role

The Colley Hotel is seeking a talented full-time commis chef to join our vibrant kitchen team t the Colley Hotel. With two kitchens and two cuisines, this is a fantastic opportunity to grow within the business. This is a hands-on position based in our modern kitchen located in Glenelg, SA 5045. The Colley Hotel will consider sponsorship for a chef of significant experience.

What you'll be doing

- Preparing and cooking a wide variety of high-quality dishes from our diverse menu

- Collaborating with the head chef to create new and innovative menu items

- Ensuring all food preparation and cooking tasks are completed to the highest standards of quality and presentation

- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment

- Providing excellent customer service and responding promptly to guest requests

- Mentoring and training junior kitchen staff as required

- Adhering to all food safety and workplace health and safety regulations

What we're looking for

- Formal chef training and a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role





- Strong working knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and presentation

- Excellent communication and customer service skills

- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

- A keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences

- A flexible and adaptable approach to work

- Food safety certification and a current police check
