Job Description
We're seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer (L2) to join our Sydney Airport team. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting complex equipment, solving technical challenges, and working directly with customers in a fast-paced operational environment.
As a Field Service Engineer, you'll be responsible for maintaining, repairing, installing, and supporting advanced X-ray and trace detection systems that play a critical role in aviation and security operations. You'll work both independently and as part of a highly collaborative team committed to delivering exceptional customer service and technical excellence.
What You'll Be Doing
- Troubleshoot, service, maintain and repair X-ray and trace detection equipment
- Complete preventative maintenance activities in line with service agreements and maintenance schedules
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and corrective maintenance requests within agreed KPI timeframes
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic faults using multimeters,
diagnostic software and testing equipment
- Replace motors, belts, rollers, X-ray generators and other mechanical components
- Conduct inspections, cleaning, repairs and component replacement activities within equipment
- Install, commission and test new systems at customer sites
- Complete service reports, maintenance records and technical documentation accurately and on time
- Manage spare parts consumption and inventory transactions through internal systems
- Travel to customer sites across metropolitan, regional and remote locations when required
- Participate in an on-call roster and provide remote and onsite technical support
- Analyse service data and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Support, coach and mentor junior engineers and new team members
- Maintain safe work practices and contribute to a solid safety culture
- Collaborate effectively with customers, contractors and internal stakeholders
