We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Guidance Officer to support students’ educational, social, emotional and developmental needs. This role provides an opportunity to make a meaningful difference through counselling, assessment, early intervention and collaborative student support. The successful applicant will demonstrate strong counselling, communication, leadership and case management skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and respond professionally to sensitive and complex student needs. The position is a Temporary Full time role, commencing 06 October 2026 until 10 December 2027, unless otherwise determined.

Your opportunity:

As a Guidance Officer, you will focus on providing assessment and diagnostic services to support the diverse learning needs of our students. This role places a strong emphasis on going beyond standard practice testing to deliver innovative and tailored solutions that empower students to achieve their full potential.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Conducting cognitive, psychoeducational and diagnostic assessments to identify and address barriers to learning.
- Interpreting assessment data to develop evidence-based recommendations for individualised learning plans and targeted interventions.




- Collaborating with teachers, support staff and families to implement strategies that enhance student learning outcomes.
- Supporting students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, ensuring culturally responsive and inclusive practices.
- Providing guidance on curriculum adjustments, differentiated instruction and strategies to support students with diverse abilities and needs.
- Managing complex cases with a focus on assessment and intervention, while working closely with external specialists and agencies when required.
- Contributing to the development of whole-school practices that promote student well-being and academic success.

Preference will be given to candidates who have expertise in conducting and interpreting cognitive and psychoeducational assessments, including beyond standard practice testing.
